100 Hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh.Kundalini (intensely coiled) is a representation of the source of mental, physical and spiritual strength which lies dormant sleeping at the base of our spine. Yogis since antiquity practice and awaken this divine serpent which then rises through the spine passing through the various chakras. Bypassing and realizing each and every chakra yogis realize their true infinite divine potential and capacity. This requires mental and physical disciplining and conditioning famously known as the practice of KUNDALINI AWAKENING. Chakras are the seat of infinite knowledge, energy and prowess and only the awakened kundalini of a practitioner can realize it as it passes through the designated centers starting from the root chakra and culminating into the crown chakra. These centers are like a whirlpool of intense and consistently surging spiritual energy. The ancient forefathers of practice could achieve impossible feats of transdimensional travel, ultimately superior power and capability as well as ascertaining the darkest secrets impossible to ascertain. Kundalini is regarded as the dormant divine serpent in which the yogi awakens and lets it rise and rise to realize the ultimate pure fearless and joyful state of our very divine and eternal soul and it’s similarly eternal and divine prowess.
Kundalini is a Sanskrit word, & its meaning is "coiled snake." It is also known as shakti (feminine energy). In Hindu philosophy, it is said that a woman is born from the base of a man's spine. If we look at the science behind Kundalini, which is also called the feminine or Shakti form of energy, this old Hindu saying makes sense. How? Let's dig a little deeper into our understanding of Kundalini. Kundalini is located at the base of the spine in the mooladhara chakra. Chakra is also a Sanskrit word, which translates into "a spinning wheel." According to yogic science, chakras are the energy centres of the subtle body. We have 7 energy centres, or chakras, in our body. Each of these energy centres has very distinct characteristics of its own. It is these different energy centres that together make up the energy body or subtle body. To understand Kundalini & Kundalini yoga, let's first understand the chakras of the body.
The following are the seven chakras:
Muladhara chakra :This chakra is located at the base of the spine, between the anus & the genitals. This chakra also represents the "Earth" element. Its characteristic emotions are stability, ambition, self-sufficiency, and feeling grounded. Blocks of Mooladhar Chakra: Feeling unstable, insecure, not ambitious, unanchored
Svadhishthana Chakra: This chakra is located 4 inches below the navel. This chakra represents the "water" element. Its characteristic emotions are creativity, sexual desires, vibrancy & happiness. Blocks of svadhishthana chakra can make a person feel a lack of sexual desires, dull energy, lack of creative approach & vibrancy
Manipura chakra: It is located between the navel and the centre of the rib cage. It represents "Fire" energy. Its characteristic emotions are anger, ego, & aggression. Manipura chakra blockages: digestive and liver issues in the body It can manifest into diabetes as well. Emotional imbalances like depression, lack of self-esteem & anger outbursts.
Anahata chakra: It is located in the centre of the heart & it represents the "Air" element. Its characteristic emotions are Love, passion, compassion, and attachment. Blocks of Anahata chakra: Feeling jealousy, attachment issues, hatred, fear, lack of trust, not being able to open up the heart.
Visshudhi chakra: It's located at the throat & it represents the "space" element. Its characteristic emotions are expression, freedom of thought, healthy communication & faith. Blocks of Vishuddhi chakra: The blocks can be reflected in the inability to speak up for themselves, not being able to communicate clearly & effectively, and feeling timid & quiet.
Ajna Chakra: It is located at a point in between the eyebrows. It does not represent any of the 5 elements as it is said to be the bridge between macrocosm & microcosm. Its characteristic emotions are intuition insights, a gateway to spiritual wisdom, and self-knowledge. Blocks of Ajna chakra: In the body, it can manifest as fogginess, headaches, and blurry vision. It can also manifest in the form of a "spiritual ego" indecisiveness, and fear of success.
Sahasrara Chakra: It is located at the centre of the crown. It is the centre for spirituality & enlightenment. Its characteristic emotion is the feeling of bliss is limitless. This chakra is either active or it is blocked.
Above mentioned are the 7 chakras in brief & kundalini shakti is the cumulative or collective energy of all these chakras & nadis together. It is impossible to have the kundalini awakened when some of our chakras are blocked or are completely inactive.
There are certain yogic practices & asanas assist to activate these chakras. Kundalini is the collective energetic body comprising the 7 chakras & the nadis of our subtle body.
We have designed a special program called: Kundalini Yoga in Rishikesh that will help us to activate these energy channels (nadis) & the energy centres (chakras) which in turn helps us to activate the dormant kundalini which is already present within us.
